The Legend

The year was 1983. Martina Navritolova won Wimbleton. Harvey Fierstein won a Tony Award for Torch Song Trilogy. And the Notso Amazon Softball League was formed cuz the gals were getting restless.

With a pioneering spirit and a vision that has carried the Notsos through 23 seasons, our founding Mothers – some of whom are still active in the league – have built an incredible legacy. Their vision: a league where players of all skill levels could come together in a spirit of good sportsmanship and camaraderie.

The same magic that went into forming the league is injecting into each and every season. We call them Notso moments. The elation of a rookie’s first catch. The thrill of seeing a team come from last place to win the Consolation Championship. A mentoring pitcher giving her team individual medals to recognize their effort on the field. One happy couple even met on the field and got married wearing their Notso uniforms.
