Step Up to the Plate

Recycle EquipmentThe gloves, bats and other baseball equipment that's sitting in your closet or garage right now can open a whole world of opportunities for a Notso player who is short on cash. We're accepting donations of new or gently-used:

  • Fielding glove
  • bats
  • Catcher's mitts and protective gear
  • Batting helmets
  • softballs
  • Baseball cleats
  • Umpire protective gear
  • Team equipment bags
  • Sets of bases

What is the definition of "gently-used"?

'Gently-used' items are not damaged or in need of repair. The best way to think about something being "gently-used" is if you would feel comfortable giving it to a friend or family member. If in doubt, go ahead and send it in.

Thinking about Umpiring?

Do you find yourself daydreaming about getting out onto the diamond and playing some softball during these dark, cold winter days? What if I told you there was a way to break out of your softball hibernation and start to have some fun... INDOORS! This is the time of year when umpires begin to refresh their knowledge and skills - and the Notso umpires will be the exact same. Whether you're a returning umpire for the league or are interested in trying it out this season, I wanted to plant the seed that there'll be an umpire's clinic in the spring to go over the rules, tips on mechanics, etc. More details to come!

Also, if you're interested in becoming an official umpire with Softball Canada, or advancing your level, there are a number of clinics in the GTA. Please contact me if you have any questions.
